We found bread in a loafless place.

I haven't had any motivation to blog for a while (I received some bad news from Finland and lost motivation to do a lot of things), and I apologise for it, but I'm back now.

I've spent the last weeks mostly watching movies, dragging myself to lectures, reading The Hunger Games (all three took me only about 3 days), and trying to decide what my dissertation is going to be about
Since I haven't really thought of any amazing blog posts, I'll give you photos of my face and some randomness from the past couple of weeks.

First I was very lazy with my make-up, because I preferred to sleep longer, so every morning I put a small amount of make-up on, and looked like this:

Then one day (Monday 26th) some of my coursemates and I travelled to London to see Complicite's The Master and Margarita.

Shepherd's Bush... hehehehe.

And since it's London and I was feeling better, I decided to do The Hunger Games inspired make-up. Well, more EffieTrinket inspired if I'm honest.

I really want to do this kind of make-up again, but even more Effie/Capitol-like, with the hair and clothes :D
Damn those Capitol people.

I did get a new belt some time ago!

It's very cute, yes? :3

And that is pretty much everything that is even remotely interesting that's been going in my life lately x)

Stay human and blog ya later!

Two Styles that I Just Don't Like.

There are a few looks/styles that I dislike greatly, and I feel the need to get couple of them out here.
So I decided to make an entry on "Two styles that I just don't like", and use myself as the example, since I don't want to be meaner than I already am, and go search for pictures on internet with the styles in question. I am not talking about hair and make-up right now, I'm talking about clothes alone.
I would like to highlight that these are MY opinions and I am not pointing at anyone specific, and if you disagree with my views and opinions, that's cool. If you agree with them, that's cool too.

I'm going to start with the lesser of the two evils. Let's go!

1. Tight, low-rise jeans with a short top/shirt.

I have to apologise immediately and say that I don't have tight, low-rise jeans myself. I do have skinny jeans (which I used for the photos), but they happen to be the right size for me, and are actually almost waist-high.
Now, when I say "tight" I mean: "Too small/tight for the person wearing them."

So here's me with my tight jeans and shortest tops, looking like an idiot.

I guess it doesn't look too bad in the picture, because (like I said) I buy clothes that actually fit me, and are not too small.
BUT THIS:

Pink line = the top's hem, Red line = how high the jeans usually are, and Cream line = imagine that being skin instead of jeans.

Is something I see surprisingly often, and it disturbs me.
First of all girls, I can see you bum crack. I don't like it, and it does not look good.
Secondly, your love handles will show.

Pointing out where the love handles are, and would be with tighter jeans.

There is a few easy ways to fix this problem (problem still being short tops and tight/small jeans causing unnecessary love handles and flashing bum cracks):
- Pull up the jeans or get bigger/higher ones.
- Get longer tops or pull the top down.

See? Fixed!

And in my opinion it looks immediately nicer.

2. Leggings with a short top/without shorts/skirts etc.

I actually had to go and buy leggings to do these photos because, as my closest friends know, I can't stand leggings, and think that they very rarely look good on anyone.

The most important thing I want to point out about leggings is:
Leggings are not trousers.
As a kid I used leggings as long-johns during winter UNDER my trousers. They are NOT trousers. I can't stress this enough.
When I see someone wearing leggings without anything on top of them, I immediately think "Oh, poor person. I guess they were in a hurry and forgot to put on the bottoms."

It's also extremely hard for me to take people seriously when they wear something like this.

Before anyone starts ranting to me about jeggings and other fashionable leggings, let me say: THIS, what you are seeing in the picture above, is what I see most often.
Not jeggings, not wet look leggings, not leather leggings, but normal, black leggings that are not particularly thick.

And the first problem with them?

Honey, I can see your bum and undies.

Which is really something I'd rather not see everyday.
Secondly: camel toes (these happen with jeggings, wet looks and leather leggings as well, believe me).
I did NOT want to take a photo of that because I just don't like it at all.
And still all the girls that insist wearing leggings with short tops keep sporting camel toes. Very Cool. NOT.

I understand that some people find leggings extremely comfortable and all that jazz, and that they like to wear them everywhere: gym, clubs, school etc.
In drama and dance I keep seeing people in leggings and, okay, that's cool, you can move in them easily and they don't get in the way, but. BUT. When we get onto the floor to stretch or do push ups... the amount of undies I've seen can't be counted with my fingers and toes.

Once again, there are some VERY easy solutions. Easiest being this:

Wear shorts on top of your leggings.

Looks so much better, and other people don't have to stare at your bum/camel toe/undies.
Or wear a skirt, or a top/dress that really (and I mean REALLY, not JUST) covers your bottom.
You wouldn't wear only tights, and a top, would you?

Spring is approaching fast and the sun is shining outside, and I just have the feeling that I'm going to start seeing these two styles a lot more soon... and it scares me.
So please girls, consider my points and think about it x)

Now I'm going to do some stretches so blog ya later~!

"Stina's not wearing any trousers! AGAIN!"

Oookay... I noticed that I might have a bit too many necklaces and other accessories here so I decided to actually have two different posts on my shorts and accessories. Makes it easier.

Today, I'm gonna kick off with the shorts and if YOU are nice enough, I might have the accessories post ready for tomorrow.

The shorts are listed in age order of a kind. Meaning the older shorts come first and the newer are last. Simple.

Now, let me start by jumping to year... oh gosh. I don't even know:

2003? 2004???

Honestly, do NOT make me try to remember the year I got these :''D They are OLD.
One summer I was visiting my dear friend Pia in Luxembourg and one day we drove to Trier, a village/city in Germany, with her family.
We used to do this a lot. Me going there over for holidays and since Luxembourg is a small-ish place, we used to drive somewhere like Trier or Strasbourg (France) for a day.
Anyway, this one day we went to a shop called New Yorker or something like that, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist anymore to look for clothes.
I remember seeing these bamfs and decided to buy them immediately although they were pretty expensive, they're Fishbone (big thing back then) after all!

I remember it took me AGES to actually to start using them xD I was very (and still am) self-conscious about my body and they just happen to be very short. Started using them A LOT when I finally got into gyaru style (that was... 5 (?) years ago).
I'm pretty sure I've grown height since then so I have noooo idea how they still fit me. They are actually a bit too big... So either they've grown with me or then I just bought a size too big when I got them.

2008? (I am sooo unsure of these older ones :''D)

These are actually jeans. Size 42 (meaning they're about 14 in UK and 12 in US). My aunt's old jeans.
She just gave them to me and I thought "Well... these are big. What do I do- SHORTS."
Then after some scissoring and sewing I had myself "brand new" shorts AND removable trouser legs/leg warmers x)))
Of course they are still big hipwise but luckily enough someone invented belts years ago.

2009 (prrretty sure).

Sorry. I wasn't really assed to iron them. Woops.
These I bought from Seppälä (Link ♥) in the beginning of 2009. Could have also been end of 2008, but the earliest memory of wearing these I have is from Stockholm 2009.
It's actually a very, very nice green that just looks a bit.. dirty in the pictures (camera phone, remember?).
Gotta love the detail at the back: one pocket with one button :333

I really should iron them...

2010.

If someone recognises these, they should yell "HEP!" now x)
These are my trustworthy manba shorts that I bought from Seppälä in 2010!
The moment I saw these shorts, pink and purple lights went off inside my head and an internal announcement yelled "Manba! Manba! Get this! For manba times!".

The colour is WAY off in the picture, sorry. Here. Have a better picture of the colour of the shorts:

It's more orange/coral, as you can see.

The followers and other readers who have been following for a while now can probably remember these from my manba post in August of 2010.
These are kinda same with the Fishbone ones... they don't hide much but enough x)

2010.

First shorts I bought after I had moved to England.
We were having an army/police/firemen/etc. themed party with my coursemates and I originally bought these for that (needed black shorts for my costume). One of my coursemates, who's also like a brother to me, had dressed up as The Doctor :D

Picture's a bit bad so it's hard to see that the insides of the shorts are partly leopard patterned but otherwise the shorts are black.
Expensive, from River Island, but totally worth it.

2011.

These I got from Primark in January... they were cheap and really cute. And SHORT.
I can't remember how and why I decided to buy these, I guess it just happened :'''D

The only annoying thing about them are the small blings on the other side. They always get stuck to stuff x)) Otherwise I like these a lot.

2011.

High waist shorts with the fugly belt that came with them. These I bought from Primark because I've been wanting high waist shorts for quite while and when I saw these I just had to do it.
They are surprisingly comfy and nice~

Most annoying thing is that these doesn't have pockets in the fron and I always try to put something in the nonexistent pockets x)

And those, ladies and gents, were my shorts ♥ For now...
Since I'm such a short... hogger, I'm expecting my collection to grow some more x)
That's all for now, next time I'll show you some of my accessories! Stay human!

Oh, oh. Have a look at my nails before you go:

My nails last week.

Edo Haaady?

Today I have some proper pictures (that I took with my aunt's camera)! x)
Warning: this post is also full of extra a's :D

Yes, I am taking a nervous holiday from Helsinki (= a lot of people) and am visiting my relatives in Vammala, Sastamala.
Like last time (I mean Easter break) we jumped into the car with my oldest cousin and her kids and drove for about 3 hours (with all the pit stops) until we arrived to our finish line.
We've been here since Wednesday (we're leaving on Monday or Tuesday) and I'm loving it x) Green grass, flowers, bushes, trees, sauna, Little Big Planet and a big house so you can easily be alone if you want to. Ahhhhh~
And of course aunt's camera which I'm rudely abusing!

Outfit of the day.

Today I decided to go for a bit Haaady gyaru-er look with what I had packed with me.
Unlike the name suggests (and unlike some people think), it's not about dressing in as many Ed Hardy clothes and accessories as you can, oh no, it's about dressing colourfully and preferably having patterns in clothes.

Haaady, sometimes haady (if you want to Google it, I suggest 'haady'), gyaru was invented by egg and its famous model Kaoru Watanabe.

And here you also have Kaoru's haaady face! (shamefully linked from another site)

For some reason everyone seems to write "haady" instead of "haaady", but when I've seen it written in egg, it's always been with three a's so that's how I write it as well.
Not that it really disturbs me... even though I like the style, it is not my favourite x) I just noticed that you get more results in Google with "haady" (way more) :D
Aaanyway...

Haaadys love brands like JSG and Galaxxxy since they have the colours and the patterns.
Of course there are haaadys who some aim to be a bit more punk, some a bit more rock and some a bit more sweet and cute, but the style reminds (me) from 80's colourful rock style.

Here's Kaoru again, sporting the style with a strong hint of rock.
What I can read from the small print, she's wearing clothes from brands like Cocolulu (which I dearly love), Hiphop Divas, tutuHA and pumps from FLAG-J.

This picture was under the title of "Haaady PUNK". As you can see, here both Kaoru and Romihi are sporting some really showy tights.

What about the make up and hair then!?
Well, that's part why I like Haaady's make up, it is usually very colourful!
I've never noticed the hair to be nothing specific, since the focus really is on the clothes and make up.

My make up for the day was heaaaavily inspired by this:

As you all can probably tell ;D

I've done the same kind of make up maaany times before, because I just LOVE the colours!
For the eyes Kaoru's used M.A.C's eyeshadows and who knows what for the face (can't remember and I don't have the magazine with me... ooops), but my tools of trade were a bit different:

Base done with always so trustworthy Lumene Natural Code Matt Makeup (11 Cream) and 17 pressed powder (neutral).
In the picture I haven't done my eyebrows or cheeks yet, hence the paleness and lack of natural colour x)

Eyes were done with Make Up Store's microshadow (Lemon, I think), M.A.C's Electric Eel Satin eyshadow and I even used a bit of Lumene Natural Code Trio Eyeshadow's (1 Angel) light blue to change the blue of M.A.C's eyeshadow.
Eyeliners are, once again, Wet 'n' Wild's black eyeliner and M.A.C's Fluidline Gel eyeliner (Blacktrack).
No fake lashes 'cause I was being lazy AND I wanted the make up to be visible so I just used M.A.C's Studio Fix Lash to darken my eyelashes.
Afterwards I added some blush (Lumene Natural Code Mineral Bronze & Blush 10 Pinky) and defined some eyebrows (Lumene Arctic Definition Mineral Eyebrow Pencil 2 Grey Brown).
Oh! And lips with some random shiny light pink lipstick I've had since I was... 14???

Here are the eyes again:

We're actually watching the 5th Harry Potter at the moment so it's a bit weird that no one's complained about me typing... yet x)
I'd better go anyway so I won't disturb them anymore :D

Oh! Before you go, take a look at my newly decorated old mobile phone!
