Whoa, okay.

My cousin reminded me the other day that I haven't posted anything here for a LONG time. So this is an "I'm okay and this is what has happened since the last time"-post. This might get long, so bear with me.

Last time (aka last two posts before this one) I wrote about wanting to cosplay again and that I was getting an apartment.

So yeah...

Well first of all last year was kind of a clusterfuck for me. In the beginning of the year I lost my mummi (grandma from mother's side in this case), was super heartbroken about it for a long time, since she was really important to me. I applied to Theatre Academy, but didn't even get invited to the entrance examination, since I "didn't have enough work experiene in theatre". Mind you, I had graduated at the end of the previous year. I had a hard time getting an apartment and generally a big amount of people were making my life harder one way or another. Different parties (not political ones) wanted money from me all the time and I just had none.

Then magic happened. I was informed I was getting an apartment, and I also decided to adopt a dog from Kulkurit Ry (a group that rescues dogs from the streets in Romania and Estonia). She is the most adorable thing ever, even she is a bit... special sometimes.

Her name is Aurica and she saves my life every day. She is mixed with who know how many breeds and is approximately 1,5 years now. Since she's a rescue, we don't know what her real age is. Nor what breeds she has in her. She arrived to Finland from Romania on the night between 27th and 28th of June. That's also when we celebrate her birthday :D

In the beginning of June I went to Desucon, which revived my urge to cosplay. Soon enough I had my own cosplay page on FB x) But we'll get back to that later.

Quite soon after Desucon I started dating... well "dating". Okay, I got myself a boy. By the end of June we were "officially dating". We're still together, which is surprising since I usually last for only 5 months in a relationship...

So things were going okay. I went to Birmingham for a Teen Wolf event, met my friends there, had fun, got told I look like Natalie Dormer, came back. Went to Ropecon, had an amazing time as usual. Went to Tubecon and met some really cool people and made new friends. Went to Mikkeli with Rafiki, had a blast.
In September I went to Tracon where I was a judge in a cosplay skit competition, had fun and made new friends. Still wanted to cosplay, but had no money. But then I got a job as a youth leader!?!?

Okay, at this point things were going a bit too well for me, so something had to come and mess up my life, right?

And it did. I was supposed to start working in the beginning of November, but got informed that it wasn't possible. For a week or two I was angry and disappointed, but somehowe I got a message saying that hey, I can start working in December! I was to become a youth leader with children's theatre group. And everything was good again. I even decided to do Sailor Pluto for a convention and started the cosplay page I mentioned earlier.
So things are going well, I have an apartment, I have a god, I have a job, I have a boyfriend, and I have hobbies that I like (parapara, cosplay and games)... so what could possibly go wrong?
Well, since you've probably noticed, I can't do well or be happy for a long time without something shitty happening. Well, in the beginning of December I lost my mummu (grandma from father's side in this case). And of course I got sad and a lot of random things started making me anxious (especially people).

I did continue my life and kept doing things I liked. I liked my work (still do!), got into cosplay and making Sailor Pluto and one day in late December as I was on a walk with Aurica, I realised that it's completely okay to let go of the "shitty" people in my life. If they are not good for me, if they always make me feel more bad than good, I can just leave them behind and say no to them.

Since the beginning of this year, things have been quite okay. I do get depressed every now and then, but that's how the illness works, and I'm doing my best on those days.
I went to Yukicon in January, where I wore my Sailor Pluto costume on stage, as I hosted Nordic Cosplay Championship preliminaries and the photoshoot contest. We even held a panel about cosplay skit making with Elina and Miro.

Once again I met some really cool people, made new friends and had a blast.

I've been working a lot, but good thing is that it's fun and I get to do a lot of different stuff. I also found out that I kinda own land in Pelkosenniemi x) Though I am going to sell it as soon as I get all the papers sorted out, since I don't really do anything with it, and don't have money to keep it in the long run.

Anyway, that's pretty much the past... eight (?) months. I actually have to work tomorrow (TODAY), so I gotta go to bed now.

I'll try to be more active here, but I don't have much time or energy after work so I'll see what I can do x)

I feel a great need to...

COSPLAY.

Because of all the amazing cosplays I saw in Desucon.

I just with I had all the time and money to do a few costumes. Well, hopefully soon-ish.

I did kind of just throw some clothes together and re-cosplay Erica Reyes from Teen Wolf. Again.
Have a cool photo my friend took of me with my camera :3

Unf. I'm hot.

But yeah, that's it for now. A longer post will be coming (hopefully) soon!
Till then, stay human and blog ya later~!

And some people found MY blog by searching for those things?

Wow.

Late Night Repairs with Sutina!

So I finally got fed up with my broken lipstick. And when I say broken, I mean BROKEN.

Long story short, I had the lipstick (Sleek -Vixen) with me in Wolf's Bane two week ago, and I carried it with me all day on the Saturday. It was warm, I kept hastily and aggressively applying it before photos and then always threw it back into my bag.
So it wasn't a surprise it kinda just exploded all over me after the long day (and partying!), since I had carried it with me, and hadn't really looked after it that well. Shame on me.

Now, I was just really bored and decided to fix it. Most of you here or who happen to be reading this might've heard of the lighter trick, which Michelle Phan also wrote about on her blog, but what to do when your lipstick looks like this:

Holey lipstick, Batman!

Like I said, it kinda just... exploded :'D And I just hastily tried to put it together with just my hands at the convention so... yeah.

Well, I don't know if there's a quicker and easier way, but this is what I did to fix it properly.
I took out:
  • my broken lipstick
  • a tablespoon
  • a candle
  • greaseproof paper
  • cling film
  • an intact lipstick (optional)

First I took out another Sleek lipstick, which was the same size width-wise:

Sleek - Amped to save the day!

Got out the greaseproof paper:

Aaand the cling wrap:

Then, starting with the greaseproof paper, I wrapped both around the intact lipstick to create a "cast" of a kind.

Oh, hello there!

After you think the cast is good to go, just clip away the excess cling wrap from the top, and gently remove it off the intact lipstick.

The cast is ready!

Okay, so now you have the cast so let's repeat and check that we have all we need:

Candle, check. Spoon, check. Lipstick, check. Cast, check.

What you want to do next, is just rudely pull/break off the lipstick from its tube, and put it on to the spoon to wait for its turn.
Next, put the cast into the tube, like this:

You can remove ALL of the lipstick from the tube, if you want to, I was too lazy for that.

It should sit quite nicely, but I highly suggest to make sure it fits with your fingers. For example I just put my pinky in and wiggled it around until I thought it was okay.
Oh! And make sure the cast is snugly around or partly inside the tube! This helps with the mess and secure a better fit for the lipstick :)

Next up:

Roast it.

No. Don't roast it. Just put the spoon (with the lipstick) over the candle and wait. Move it around a bit.

It's melting!

If you have as much lipstick on the spoon,  like I did, it will take a while and it will probably start to... bubble a bit. So just move it around and shake it gently every now and then. AVOID SPILLING.

When it's all melted, just take your lipstick tube (the one with the cast) and pour the melted lipstick carefully back into the tube:

Mine was quite bubbly at this point, but as soon as I had scraped everything I could off the spoon and into the tube, I tapped it onto the table a few times to eliminate the bubbles and to set the liquidy lipstick more evenly.
After this, into the fridge it goes!

Bye, bye. Go and... chill :D

As soon as the lipstick's in the fridge, you can go and do whatever you want. I decided to clean the mess I had made.
Timewise, 15 minutes should be enough, but I left mine for 30 minutes, just in case. And because I kinda forgot it there.

After the chosen time has passed, go back to the fridge, take your lipstick out and gently unravel it.

I should've obviously tapped a bit harder.

So there IS a high chance the lipstick will cling to the edges of the cast, like mine did, but this is relatively easily fixed.

I don't have photos of this process, but it's basically the same as fixing a smaller damage on a lipstick. I just heated the spoon up, and gently ran it over and around to smooth edges and to shape the lipstick.
Then back to the fridge!

I took the last photos before I put it into the fridge to cool off once again, but here it is:

Done!

Not perfect, actually it's quite freaking speacial, but at least it's intact :D

So yeah, this was how I decided to fix the whole lipstick, and I will probably reshape it a bit at some point, but now it's usable once again!
Have you fixed any of your make-up lately? If yes, what and how? Share in the comments!

Oh yeah, I changed the outlook of my blog! Opinions? Yay? Nay?

Back to Finland, but so lost

Time to get my blog (and life!?) in shape.

I just deleted a bunch of blogs I used to follow, since they haven't updated in AGES.
Next I'll start to envision a new look for my blog, which is something I was supposed to do AGES ago.

I really need to get a hold of my life blog, this is getting ridiculous :'D

Moving!

Hey you all beautiful and gorgeous people!

I am going to make a "Good Skin 101" post soon-ish, but definitely not this week, and probably not next week, since, as some of you know, I'm moving back to Finland this week, which means next week is pretty much me running around Helsinki, trying to sort stuff out and get some money, maybe apply for a job or two.

And not this week, because I'm supposed to be packing and cleaning, but my room looks like this at the moment:

Messy room is messy. Whoops?

Part of the kitchen

I'm supposed to get those boxes to Finland somehow, and that's not even all the boxes! :'D
I might ask my friend, if I can leave everything that I can't fit at hers, and then just ask her to send stuff to me whenever I get some money.
I'm taking only two bags into the plane with me (plus hand baggage of course); the blue one you see in the lower photo and a smaller one, which is FULL of clothes at the moment (and still weighs only 11 kg or so, but can't fit much more).
The rest I'll hopefully be able to get when I come back for graduation.

But yeah, I'm gonna go melt now, because it's 28C outside, and at least 30C inside, and I am just NOT created for over 20C temperatures.

Sunday, 10 March 2013

Phew.

I am not going to lie. My life has been a stressful mess lately and I've nearly given up a few times, but here I am!

In the past month and a bit more that I haven't updated, there's been two dance competitions that us Saints (to whom I'm the treasurer fot) participated, so organising costumes, buses etc. for those took some time, I found out that someone I know has leukaemia and of course my lectures started again so they take their time, on top of all the dance rehearsals, which I have Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays... Last two weeks I also spent campaigning in our Students' Union's elections, and I got quite sick and am still trying to get better. I've barely slept (until last night), and I've been eating SO badly it's ridiculous.

Of course now I'll be concentrating on my dissertation and coursework more than usual, so I can't promise any exciting, regular updates.
What I AM doing, is planning a new background etc for the blog so that's exciting I guess :'D

Anyway, I'll need to go and pretend to do some actual work now so I wish all you readers, who've stuck with me through all these breaks, the best!
Stay human and blog ya later~

Sad Sutina is sad.
Also, Saints' theme for a certain charity night-out was "Japanese" so that is what happened.

Airport blogging!

Yes, I am on my way back to Worcester.
Yes, I got bored in Amsterdam.

My hair's a mess D:

Talking about hair, as I went through the passport control the two guys there just went "You changed your hair!" and for a while I thought they remembered me from last time, but then they showed me my picture on the screen (which they had gotten because I went through the automatic machine-thingy that takes passports with chips) and it was my actual, colourful passport picture :D
Had I known they'd be comparing, I would've smiled more for the camera at the passport control x)

I also wish I would've been able to take the earlier flight which would be leaving about now... but nooooo... they gave me the later one which means that I might have to (most probably) spend my night Birmingham International. It wouldn't be the first time, but it's not nice either.
And if I do... well, I'll keep you all updated.

But I think I'm getting to my gate now so stay human and blog ya later~!

Happy New Year to all my pups!

Sorry for NOT posting for a long time... ONCE again.
Anyway, here's my face on this "fine" (it's freaking slushy and rainy in Finland D:) New Years Eve!

Also, a bit of close-up of my make-up for tonight:

Good lighting is good...

Since I bought two new Sleek palettes, that I haven't advertised here yet, I decided to use the Primer and the Ultra Mattes.

Primers: Hot Wired! (under orange) and Ultra Violet (under the purple)
Ultra Mattes: Strike (orange) and Sugarlite (purple)

I know that Sugarlite doesn't really look purple in these photos, but as soon as I make the post about the palettes, you'll see its true colour :D'

Well, I hope everyone has fun tonight, tomorrow etc. and that their 2013 will be amazing!

Happy birthday to me!

I'm at a lecture, but our lecturer's not here. YET. He's SUPER late, just FYI.
So what better way to spend time than snap some webcam pictures!

This is what I look like on this... fine day.

Oh yeah, I dyed my hair orange a few days ago, but it's faded a bit since... Gotta redye xD

...
Well, stay human and blog ya later!

Saturday, 1 September 2012

Whoops.

Seriously. I have been TOO lazy to update my blog. And to be honest, not much has happened.
I spent two months in Finland, doing basically nothing but just nesting, watching TV and hanging out with people.

Now I have a small amount of things to show and tell, but for now, you just need to be happy with a little (though ultimately serious) preview:

So that, and way more (?) stuff coming up as soon as possible, so stay tuned, stay human and blog ya later~!

Thursday, 26 July 2012

I guess this is one of those "I'm still alive, just don't have anything to say so have my face instead" posts...

It's summer... and everyone's been busy OR lazy. I've been more of the latter, and I honestly haven't done anything interesting. Ooops.
Well, I did go to Kuopio for Animecon to dance and teach parapara a bit, but that's about it.

Oh, I have some new stuff, most of that given to me! But I don't have pictures so you'll have to wait for a while so I can get my ass up and actually take some photos of them.
Also, I'll be gone for the weekend, so no updating OR taking pictures of stuff.

I did go see one of my long-time friends the other day, and actually managed to do something to myself. Look-wise.

My outfit for the day. I WAS BOILING.

Natural-ish make-up. Also, I love this hat~

My aunt (one of them) bought this hat for me. First she put in on my head while joking "Well, here's a hat for you", but then she realised that it actually suited me so she agreed to pay it for me :D

I was trying to go for a bit of bohemian gyaru-look, but it's incredibly hard when your hair is RED. So I just put on my own twist like zat, and got told by people that I looked cute. AWESOME.

Anyway, I really don't know what to write or tell, so have a picture of me looking... intellectual:

Don't worry, I took the sunglasses off when I went on stage.

And I say heeeyyyyeyyyyeyyyyeyey~

I haven't been up to much lately. Except packing and trying to come up with something to do... I haven't really been out in a while either, so I haven't bothered with make-up. I've been spending time trying some different, basic, colourful nails so I guess I'll share some of those with you x)

Barry M. Lemon Ice Cream and purple crackle.

I had these for about a week before I got bored and decided to change.

17 Catwalk Couture and Barry M. silver foil.

I actually had these for a few days, but because I was cleaning they got a bit chipped and I decided to do something else. I did like these.
I hadn't buffered my nails between this and the Barry M. manicure, so I decided to buffer them after getting rid off of the polish.

Before buffering.

After buffering.

My nails were in a surprisingly good condition even before buffering so I just it was a quick buffering.

GOSH Orange Drops and Wet 'n' Wild Kaleidoscope.

Same in the sun.

I hope this one is going to last me till I fly to Finland because I'm not bothered to do new nails on this week... as I'm moving and cleaning. But we'll see.

I'm gonna go back to stalk- watching my friends on webcam, so stay human and blog ya later~!

VoScAs

Quick update, because I'm supposed to be writing essays, but there are pictures of me from the VoScAs (Volunteering & Society Awards) in my dress :D

All photos are taken by Paul, an amazing photographer who usually manages to capture me at my derpiest.

Me with my 20 Hour award. With the wrong surname x)

Some random people. Just kidding, they are international students like me :D

Because this photo is funny without context.
And you can see my hair better and how it defies the norms.

I really should continue my essay now, so stay human and blog ya later!

Wednesday, 2 May 2012

I would like to defy your norms, if that is okay with you.

After today's Physical Theatre lecture I decided to go to Primark to see if they have some animal print leggings (which we will need for our Physical Theatre assessment, it's not like I REALLY want to wear them, and even when I have to, I'll wear something to cover my ass!), as well as to buy a new strapless bra. I was also running out of nail polish remover so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and drop by Superdrug on my way home.

What I was meant to get from my small shopping trip:
- Strapless bra
- Nail polish remover

What I ended up getting:

Bra, a top, nail polish remover, nail buffer, crystal nail file, and two packets of hair removal cream.

Well, what else can I say than "Ooops."?
I don't even have money for all this crap so I don't know WHY I got all of that... probably because it all ended up costing me only £20. (EXCUSES, EXCUSES.)
I am still looking for jobs, and just dropped three CVs to different places AGAIN. I just hope someone would hire me soon, and if they don't, I'll just hope it was because I'm over-qualified or something.

Anyhooow, when I got home I decided to try my new bra on to see how it goes with my new dress which I got some time ago.
Btw, reason for this sudden bra purchase is the fact I am nominated for an award in our University's Students' Union's Volunteering and Society Awards.

I don't even care that they completely screwed up my surname because I'm so excited xD

The event is held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, which is apparently a quite nice place to hold formal events. They also informed that the dress code is formal, so I'll provide you all with a simple three row explanation which also helps to establish the fact that I needed a new bra:

Dress code: formal.
My dress: strapless.
My bras: with straps.

So after putting on my bra and the dress, I asked my flatmate Monica to take some pictures:
 Excuse my chubby feet.

 Waterfall in the back!

I said something about feeling like a spring bride, which we both laughed at. And then we just got kinda crazy...

Stepford The Tything Wives

So yeah... I do think that half of those should totally be included in a bridal catalogue. *nod nod*

I also got a new nail polish the other day, which I blame Jai for, because I saw it on her blog first!

I'm in the middle of my manicure here, hence the nail polish in places it should be.

I think that's about it this time, I'm going to go and continue my manicure now.
Stay human and blog ya later~!
