I would like to defy your norms, if that is okay with you.

After today's Physical Theatre lecture I decided to go to Primark to see if they have some animal print leggings (which we will need for our Physical Theatre assessment, it's not like I REALLY want to wear them, and even when I have to, I'll wear something to cover my ass!), as well as to buy a new strapless bra. I was also running out of nail polish remover so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and drop by Superdrug on my way home.

What I was meant to get from my small shopping trip:
- Strapless bra
- Nail polish remover

What I ended up getting:

Bra, a top, nail polish remover, nail buffer, crystal nail file, and two packets of hair removal cream.

Well, what else can I say than "Ooops."?
I don't even have money for all this crap so I don't know WHY I got all of that... probably because it all ended up costing me only £20. (EXCUSES, EXCUSES.)
I am still looking for jobs, and just dropped three CVs to different places AGAIN. I just hope someone would hire me soon, and if they don't, I'll just hope it was because I'm over-qualified or something.

Anyhooow, when I got home I decided to try my new bra on to see how it goes with my new dress which I got some time ago.
Btw, reason for this sudden bra purchase is the fact I am nominated for an award in our University's Students' Union's Volunteering and Society Awards.

I don't even care that they completely screwed up my surname because I'm so excited xD

The event is held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, which is apparently a quite nice place to hold formal events. They also informed that the dress code is formal, so I'll provide you all with a simple three row explanation which also helps to establish the fact that I needed a new bra:

Dress code: formal.
My dress: strapless.
My bras: with straps.

So after putting on my bra and the dress, I asked my flatmate Monica to take some pictures:
 Excuse my chubby feet.

 Waterfall in the back!

I said something about feeling like a spring bride, which we both laughed at. And then we just got kinda crazy...

Stepford The Tything Wives

So yeah... I do think that half of those should totally be included in a bridal catalogue. *nod nod*

I also got a new nail polish the other day, which I blame Jai for, because I saw it on her blog first!

I'm in the middle of my manicure here, hence the nail polish in places it should be.

I think that's about it this time, I'm going to go and continue my manicure now.
Stay human and blog ya later~!

Two Styles that I Just Don't Like.

There are a few looks/styles that I dislike greatly, and I feel the need to get couple of them out here.
So I decided to make an entry on "Two styles that I just don't like", and use myself as the example, since I don't want to be meaner than I already am, and go search for pictures on internet with the styles in question. I am not talking about hair and make-up right now, I'm talking about clothes alone.
I would like to highlight that these are MY opinions and I am not pointing at anyone specific, and if you disagree with my views and opinions, that's cool. If you agree with them, that's cool too.

I'm going to start with the lesser of the two evils. Let's go!

1. Tight, low-rise jeans with a short top/shirt.

I have to apologise immediately and say that I don't have tight, low-rise jeans myself. I do have skinny jeans (which I used for the photos), but they happen to be the right size for me, and are actually almost waist-high.
Now, when I say "tight" I mean: "Too small/tight for the person wearing them."

So here's me with my tight jeans and shortest tops, looking like an idiot.

I guess it doesn't look too bad in the picture, because (like I said) I buy clothes that actually fit me, and are not too small.
BUT THIS:

Pink line = the top's hem, Red line = how high the jeans usually are, and Cream line = imagine that being skin instead of jeans.

Is something I see surprisingly often, and it disturbs me.
First of all girls, I can see you bum crack. I don't like it, and it does not look good.
Secondly, your love handles will show.

Pointing out where the love handles are, and would be with tighter jeans.

There is a few easy ways to fix this problem (problem still being short tops and tight/small jeans causing unnecessary love handles and flashing bum cracks):
- Pull up the jeans or get bigger/higher ones.
- Get longer tops or pull the top down.

See? Fixed!

And in my opinion it looks immediately nicer.

2. Leggings with a short top/without shorts/skirts etc.

I actually had to go and buy leggings to do these photos because, as my closest friends know, I can't stand leggings, and think that they very rarely look good on anyone.

The most important thing I want to point out about leggings is:
Leggings are not trousers.
As a kid I used leggings as long-johns during winter UNDER my trousers. They are NOT trousers. I can't stress this enough.
When I see someone wearing leggings without anything on top of them, I immediately think "Oh, poor person. I guess they were in a hurry and forgot to put on the bottoms."

It's also extremely hard for me to take people seriously when they wear something like this.

Before anyone starts ranting to me about jeggings and other fashionable leggings, let me say: THIS, what you are seeing in the picture above, is what I see most often.
Not jeggings, not wet look leggings, not leather leggings, but normal, black leggings that are not particularly thick.

And the first problem with them?

Honey, I can see your bum and undies.

Which is really something I'd rather not see everyday.
Secondly: camel toes (these happen with jeggings, wet looks and leather leggings as well, believe me).
I did NOT want to take a photo of that because I just don't like it at all.
And still all the girls that insist wearing leggings with short tops keep sporting camel toes. Very Cool. NOT.

I understand that some people find leggings extremely comfortable and all that jazz, and that they like to wear them everywhere: gym, clubs, school etc.
In drama and dance I keep seeing people in leggings and, okay, that's cool, you can move in them easily and they don't get in the way, but. BUT. When we get onto the floor to stretch or do push ups... the amount of undies I've seen can't be counted with my fingers and toes.

Once again, there are some VERY easy solutions. Easiest being this:

Wear shorts on top of your leggings.

Looks so much better, and other people don't have to stare at your bum/camel toe/undies.
Or wear a skirt, or a top/dress that really (and I mean REALLY, not JUST) covers your bottom.
You wouldn't wear only tights, and a top, would you?

Spring is approaching fast and the sun is shining outside, and I just have the feeling that I'm going to start seeing these two styles a lot more soon... and it scares me.
So please girls, consider my points and think about it x)

Now I'm going to do some stretches so blog ya later~!

Put a smile on your face... ten miles high!

Hey~

Quick boring update with pictures, since I am, once again, supposed to be doing Uni work.

Last week I got more hangers and hence decided to rearrange my wardrobe and drawer.
What I hadn't realised was the amount of clothes I have.
Like most of my readers know, I come from Finland but have been living in Worcester, England for a bit over a year now. Sometimes I go to Finland on holidays, meaning I have clothes back there as well. Quite a lot to be honest.

Now THIS is the sight that was seen on my floor after I had emptied my drawer and had already arranged my wardrobe:

These are all from my drawer. Only.

Okay. That just looks like a pile of random clothes. Let me clarify:

Click for a bigger (blurry) picture!

Those pictures are missing the clothes that I was either wearing or that were in the laundry bin.

Pyjamas - Pyjama trousers and 3 night shirts (I had 1 pair of pyjamas in the laundry bin)
Tops - 8 tops (I was wearing 1)
Gym tops - 4 gym tops
T-shirts - 1o t-shirts (although 3 of them I use as gym shirts)
Long sleeve shirts - 4 long sleeved shirts and one 1/2 sleeve shirt
Shorts - 6 shorts (plus 1 which was in the laundry bin)
Skirts - 2 pink skirts (I was wearing one (denim) so all together 3 skirts)
Jeans - 4 jeans out of which ones are short (I don't even usually wear jeans... WHAT)
Gym trousers - 2 pairs

And now to the wardrobe:

There are some hidden clothes in this picture.

Let us go from left to right:
- White jacket and an army style shirt beneath it (I'm gonna use / to separate the clothes that are under).
- dark grey jacket with embroidery / dark grey dress
- Wicked track jacket / denim dress
- reversible hoodie / violet dress
- green hoodie - Bohemian-ish flower shirt
- long, black, knit vest / black dress and a pink shirt
- pink check shirt / pink loose t-shirt
- blue check shirt / blue t-shirt with a hood
- black long sleeve shirt
- Uni hoodie!
- pink hoodie
- long grey hoodie
- pretty skirt
- white t-shirt that has been scribbled all over / black top I made for a social

I was wearing my yellow hoodie so it's not in the picture.

SINCE WHEN DID I NEED SO MANY CLOTHES!?

Honestly... I need to stop buying clothes. Like NOW. How will I ever get most of these back to Finland?!
I do want a new Uni hoodie because they are so cool... I just can't decide on the colour... pink, purple or blue???

Anyway, I really need to start concentrating on my Uni work again.
And before I forget, I probably won't update till next week's weekend or something, because my friends Inkku and Jenni are coming here to see me! :3 So excited~

Bye, stay human and take a look at my Cherry Pie nails:
